Jan is a wildlife artist from Virginia. She enjoys creating art from life experiences and wildlife encounters. Jan uses oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, and scratchboard as mediums. Her paintings reflect the love she has for nature, nautical wildlife, and wild horses. She has traveled to Africa, Colorado Rocky Mountains, Minnesota, Corolla NC, Outer Banks NC, NC Conservation Center, Huntington State Park SC, Brook Green Gardens SC and many other natural wildlife habitats.
Life is an Adventure! Get out and explore nature!

Jan enjoys the outdoors and nature. She gathers reference photos from wildlife adventures to create a composition that captures the wildlife animals in their environment. The details in an animal's eyes are created to capture the "soul" of the animal.
In August 2023, Jan traveled to Kenya on a Safari where she captured photos of wildlife in Mount Kilimanjaro, Masai Mara, and Tsavo West. The adventure was amazing and an unforgettable experience. In October of 2014, Jan attended an artist retreat workshop in Minnesota with several artists. Jan loved the experience of holding a fox and receiving a warm, welcomed kiss, that was very heart-felt. In 2016 Jan went on an unforgettable African Safari with Robert Caldwell & Friends. The group explored Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Tarangire National Parks. The experience added a great depth of artistry in her wildlife paintings. Jan has been to Colorado Rocky Mountains and many other places where she photographed animals in their own environment.
